Building an Independent Furniture Retailers website

Hatters Home & Style is a popular department store that specialises in furniture and fashion. We had previously built its website on OctoberCMS, but they were looking to update their frontend design to improve the user experience and better showcase their products.

The Challenge

The primary challenge for this project was to create a new frontend design that aligned with the brand image of Hatters Home & Style while also improving the website's usability and functionality. The client wanted a modern, sleek, and user-friendly design that could be easily navigated by customers, and that could highlight the different categories of products offered by the store.

Research and Analysis

We started the project by conducting research on the current trends in frontend design for e-commerce websites. We also analysed the existing website of Hatters Home & Style to understand its strengths and weaknesses. We reviewed the current user interface, design elements, and site architecture to identify areas that could be improved or updated.

Wireframing and Prototyping

Based on our research and analysis, we created wireframes and prototypes of the new design. We incorporated the feedback and requirements of the client and made sure that the design aligned with the brand image and values of Hatters Home & Style.

Design Implementation

We then proceeded to implement the design using the OctoberCMS platform. We used a responsive design approach to ensure that the website would be optimised for different devices and screen sizes.

Testing and Quality Assurance

We performed extensive testing and quality assurance to ensure that the new frontend design was working correctly, free from bugs, and responsive across different devices.

Results

The new frontend design for Hatters Home & Style was successfully implemented, and the results were impressive. The new design was sleek, modern, and user-friendly, which improved the user experience and helped showcase the different categories of products offered by the store. The responsive design approach ensured that the website was optimised for different devices, resulting in increased user engagement and retention.

Conclusion

The process of designing a new frontend for Hatters Home & Style involved several stages, including research and analysis, wireframing and prototyping, design implementation, testing, and quality assurance. The final result was a modern and user-friendly design that showcased the brand's products and values while improving the overall user experience.
